exaust manifold paint
According to my NCRS info the exaust manifolds on my '61 were painted engine color chevy orange. Can anyone confirm this and give me a proceedure and paint recomendation. I hear stories that no paint will last on the manifolds. Any help is appreciated as I currently have the manifolds off the car so now is the time to do something. Thanks Wib

I don't know of any body color paint that would survive the heat of the exhaust manifolds.
And you may be reading the NCRS info wrong too.
The best suggestion I can offer is to look through some of Paul67's posts, or contact him.

He has coated the manifolds on his 67, and they came out looking very stock.

The NCRS info is correct - C1 exhaust manifolds were on the engine when it was painted, and judges will expect to see some orange paint on them.
Some C2 years had them painted, some didn't (none on 67's).
