Ticket or not
You have to put yourself in the cop's shoes. He pulls someone over, do they have a gun pointed at him? I would be really nervous not being able to tell what the driver is doing. As far as the front plate law, it sucks.

Its a good thing I ran into him then, because 10 minutes later I'm sure he could have ticketed me for something as I showed Ron the full sounds from the B&B's.

The reason that window tinting makes it hard for an officer to see what's going on in the car is not valid. The back could be tinted, blocking any activity there or there could be an AK47 in the back of a panel van. Just pass a law that if pulled over by a cop and you have tinted windows then you must lower the window(s) before the officer approaches. I could live with that AND its safer for the law.
Yeah, I know, we have fewer rights when in our cars and the authorities want to be able to see what we're doing in there so that they can pull us over.

I'm all for officer safety!!!!
I've been stopped 3 times in 25 years, every time the window was down and my hands were on the wheel before the officer approached.
I've never had a tinted window (other than standard factory) on any car I've ever owned.
That's why I'd be in favor of a law requiring that windows be lowered if stopped. Thats 0% window tint when it matters most, but still allows the owner to keep the car cooler in the sunlight and protect the interior from sun damage.
I think that the purpose of no tint laws is not officer safety but rather to see if the occupants are consuming alcohol, smoking crack, not wearing seatbelts etc. In that case lawmakers should just say so.
Like I said, we have much fewer rights when in our cars, that's obvious, else we couldn't have curtains and blinds on the front and side windows of our homes.

I have the upmost respect for your occupation and I hope that you don't think that I'm trying to argue.
I was just trying to make the point that if no tint laws are "originally" for safety then thats great. However such a simple compromise of requiring the windows to be lowered benefits everyone by allowing the benefits of tinting with the ultimate visibility that increases officer safety.
I know that compliance would be an issue, (education and the PA system could help)
Take care
