Gingerman Track Night - anyone?

Gingerman Track Night - anyone?
Last year I headed to Gingerman with some guys from the North Shore corvette club which I'm a member of. We'd get the track starting at about 4:30 or so and run til sundown. We'd have about 10 or 12 cars show up and it was always a great time. Unfortunately the organizer of our trips moved out of state and I haven't been able to track the other guys down. If anyone is planning a trip to gingerman let me know. I think Hokievette as one of the folks who showed up last year.

Kschwamy has been trying to set something up but wasn't getting much response.
I was thinking about going this thursday but I'm not sure if I should risk it (shoulder injury) just yet. We'll see how this week goes, how about next Tuesday? I'm headed to Mid-Ohio next weekend (28/29) so Thursday would be a little too close to the weekend. I have some non-vette guys that will go as well.

We'll get this going in late June or July when the nights are longer, gotta get my money's worth with the long drive

A Sunday sounds good to me. I would not do another work day for this. It's too long of a drive for me, especially since I get up so early in the a.m. for a work day. Last time we went I had a great adrenline rush going, but that's really not how I'd like to approach Gingerman again. So, I vote for a Sunday, as I'd like to give that track another try and see if this is something I'd be interested in doing more of.
Also, I'd like to request that I get the track all to myself for a few rounds.
I really prefer not having to pass everyone!

Well, my trip to Gingerman probably won't line up with the group from the forum. I like the idea of going on a Thursday evening and taking Friday off work. I'll probably go two weeks from this Thursday, which is June 2. I've got to fab up a new air dam before I go, otherwise I'd do this thursday.

want to run their Vettes that hard too close to the drive
to Bowling Green for Cruise-In.

I like the idea of June 2, I'm going to mark it on the calendar. Went to the Dr. last night and she was not pleased with my plans to drive the 28th weekend, let alone early next week. I guess I'll heed her advice and not keep f#@%ing myself up so my whole summer's shot.

For anyone looking for another date at Gingerman without having to work all day and then drive out there, run some laps, and then have to drive back, I have another option. For the last 3 years, I've been going out there with the Motor City chapter of the Shelby Club. There are always a few other Vettes (and lots of Mustangs to beat up on). The event is Monday July 25th. My friends and I drive out Sunday afternoon and camp at the track the night before the track day. With these guys, you'll get more track time than you know what to do with and traffic has never been a problem. I think last year we had 7 sessions of 20 minutes each. Most people don't even run the last session or two. If you're interested in going out with us, let me know and we can set up to caravan out there together.

Yea, I'm up for some time in late June-early July. I'm a noob when it comes to cars on a track (used to race motorcycles at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the early 90's, so I know track racing).

If this can be done on a friday, saturday or Sunday that would be great. Regardless however, when this gets set up I will try my best to be there!!!!!

It now seems that there is some interest in an all Corvette night at Gingerman. Here are some later June and July Sunday and Monday dates.

Bob gave these to me about a month ago but they could be gone by now.
Any interest on July 10 or 11?
Let me know so we can see if we can get 12 to 15 cars.

Hey... the best way to go about this is... survey for weekend or week day. Then just schedule it If you get enough advance notice the grid will be full.
