Looks like the spring or whatever it is that keeps the side mirror from folding broke. Now is just rotates freely. Is this a quick fix or does it have to go to the dealer for it to be repaired properly?

Thanks in advance!
There is a way to "Repair" it. Dealer will probably want to replace the mirror as it is not supposed to be serviced as such.

Pulled mine out of storage after the winter this year and had the same problem!!! Dealer replace the whole mirror, at a cost of $375!!!! GOOD LUCK I was !!!!! But it is over and paid for now so I have to let it go!

Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully it can get fixed because $375 for a pin is just too much
Let me know how you fair with the situation, becuase if it happens again and there is a cheaper way I definitely want to know about it!!!
Like I said, there is a repair for this that allows the mirror to operate normally. And it is cheaper then buying the mirror and having it painted to match. Depending where you go I suppose.

The washer that holds the head on the passenger side mirror came off the c5 the other day. I mixed up some JB weld, placed it around the mirror shaft, and taped the unit back in place until it dried. Sure the mirror doesn't fold, but it's secure and shows no sign of repair.
