Don't know about clubs and goups but I'll be there again this year
I try to go every other year. This is my year to skip. Next year I think they switch to V-8 engines so the sound will be different. It will be my year to take it in again.
I wish they would bring back the USGP East & West of the 70's... A west coast race at some place like Laguna Seca, Sonoma, or even Portland International Raceway would be cool. East coast should be back at The Glen, baby!
It's the most advanced form of automobile racing in the world. Huge budgets, incredible performance. Ferrari driver Michael Shumacher is ranked right up there with Tiger Woods as the highed paid professional athlete in the world, for many years now.
Forgive me for a bit of thread hijacking, but I've got lots of great memories from those colorful Fall, early October days of 1973-1980 at The Glen. Formula One had a bunch of drivers with great personalities back then. The track has great viewing areas and it was really neat to have paddock passes and rub elboes with the drivers. My wife and I would drive all night Thursday from Ohio and camp all weekend in the infield. There was a famous part of the infield called The Bog where the REALLY crazy people hung out at night. Good times!
Bernie Ecclestone, the head of the F1 Constructors' Association, pretty much killed F1 racing at The Glen with increasingly larger money demands.
LBGP 3 times.... Mossport 3 times... Indy 4 times...
I go with friends. Great times.
Indy... Exotics down at the circle... Dinner at St Elmo's... Cart racing at Lyandykes place... The english Pub just outside the track on Highschool road....
