I need to post this for all the Chicago Crew to know.
Three weeks ago I finally got my tire/wheel combo from Corvette Garage. I bought them mounted and balanced. Well the first trip down the Expressway told me there was a problem.
I drove straight to K&O Tire in Elkgrove. Made an appointment and they fixed me up. Not only were they out of balance but the tires were not centered on the rims 3 out of 4. The tires are now perfectly balanced and mounted.
Also Corvette Garage said they will credit the cost of the rebalance.

Wayne,
I am confused...what does not centered on the rims mean? The tires weren't seated?

I was wondering this as well....
I've seen a where I've had issues where a bead would not seat fully but you could see it and I never would install them like this, had to break the bead and start over to ensure the bead was seated all the way. I'm not sure if the tire would stay intact and hold air for very long if the bead was not seated all the way. I would think that after being rolled on the ground with the weight of vehicle, it would either seat or leak air, never tried it so I don't know.
Ok, when they spun the already "balanced" tire the machine noted where it was out and it didn;t look right to tech so he inspected further since he had come across this before. He spun it again and showed me how the tire was not centered on the rim lip. It held air and had a bead but the effect was that the tire looked egg shape when rotated. It was visible to the eye, you didn't need a machine to tell you. They broke the bead down on three of four tires and remounted and rebalanced. Perfect!!! As for Corvette Garage they so far didn't reimburse me the $$$. I will follow up with a call then I will post nastey grams till forum police stop me.
Update:
Corvette Garage reembursed me the re mount & balance money.
It took a follow up call but they came thru.
Since I;m now in Texas I could go down there and open a can of whoop *** on them
