I can only guess. According to my sales guy, the dealer (Stasek Chevrolet, to answer Stilcrazee's question) has "4 or 5" deposits against upcoming allocations. According to the same source, they had 11 allocations for the 1st half of the year. They've been selling at MSRP only (not over, and certainly not under ), and have been favoring returning customers. So, if they get the same allocation for the second half of the model year run, and no one else sneaks in front of me, then sometime around March, maybe? Or maybe a little later to allow for build and delivery time.
My hope is to get it after the snow departs, and before the Cruise-In (preferably enough before that I can have it nicely broken in and ready to party ). I'll know more when the allocation letters come out in the next week or two.

Thanks. I'm excited, but now the very long wait sets in.
It's interesting how different the dealers are. I called Foley Chevrolet in Northbrook, because they had a silver one on the floor that I wanted to look at, on the morning of the same day and spoke to their Internet Sales Manager. He said they're firm at $15k over list. When I asked when he thought they'd take orders at MSRP, he said "not for years". Stasek said that they want to build repeat business so they never do that kind of markup, though they of course were quite firm that they weren't going below MSRP on the Z06.
It probably will pay off for Stasek in my case. If I decide to break with tradition and get some kind of beater for those extremely rare occasions when the Vette isn't the right car for the job, I'll probably deal with Stasek.

If they'll charge $15k over list, they'll probably not think twice about screwing you in other areas as well. I don't want any car badly enough that I'd pay $15k over sticker for. I bought my car from Stasek and would go there again.
Congrats! and if you can't get it before CI, getting it there would be a hoot!
I had the same thought. The only reason I am passing on Museum Delivery at all is that I want to have a clear bra put on before I drive it for the first time. But being able to pick it up at the Cruise-In would be cool enough that I'd be willing to risk driving home "naked".
The way my luck runs, it'll be built the week after the CI.
Congrats J - hope to see you and the Z at Road America in the future
Thanks, All.
I'm not planning any spring track events due in part to the impending vehicle transition but mostly due to another spring of weekend implementations at our facilities around the country. In fact, it was that tracking hiatus that drove the timing of this move (rather than waiting one more year).
But I hope like hell to make Oktoberfast (Badger Bimmers) and the MFBA fall event at RA - I can't wait to turn the Z loose on those long straights.
