Default Recommended Chicago dealer?

*edit* - Make that a ChicagoLAND dealer, I'm in the western Burbs.

Hi all - I've just started shopping recently and I will admit to have been out of the Bowtie scene for a while. So, I am a bit out of touch with what dealers are preferred among those in the know. Any advice or experience is welcome. I would likely be trading a low mileage Deutschwagen for an '06 coupe, although I am not sure if it would be base or Z51 - I have been advised by one person so far against the Z51 for daily Chicagoland use.

Anyway, I look forward to a rewarding buying and driving experience, and hope for a welcome back after a short defection across the Atlantic...

Cheers

I have had great experiences with Bill Kay Chevrolet in Lisle, near 355 on Ogden. Bought my 05 for under invoice when it was hard to do that. They also service all 3 of my vettes.

Talk to Rob in sales. He is their vette guy. George the service manager is great as well.

Tell them Greg Higgins sent you.

Ogden Chevrolet in Westmont on Ogden Ave. Talk to Brian Rudowicz, hes the GM of the dealership and they sell the most corvttes of any other dealer in Illinois followed closely by Bill Jacobs in Joliet and Woodfield Chevy in Schaumburg.

I dont know Jacobs well but I wouldnt buy a free car from Woodfield, bunch of jag offs.

I agree with Greg on Bill Kay. Although I did not buy the car there, the service department is outstanding.

Stasek Chevy in Wheeling has a friend of mine selling vettes there. Ask for Steve Howorka, he's a good guy, really knows vettes. He also has a web site and at times lists some of the inventory he has available.

I was at Ogden's new location yesterday and they had a new Lemans Blue 1LT Z51 MN6 w/ transparent roof and polished wheels that made me think twice. But I'm holding out for an '08...

I would also recommend Stasek Chevrolet in Wheeling. I've had very good experiences with their service dept!
