I'm planning on going to Bragg Smith in the spring and was hoping to gauge interest on if I could get a group to go. If I remember correctly the 3 day level one Corvette school drops 300 bucks in price to 1500 bucks if you reserve a group of 8. I think it'd be a really great opportunity to hone your driving abilities and, more importantly, flog the bejeezus out of someone elses Vette for once on an actual track. Plus it's right outside of Vegas so that'd be a party and it would get us out of the horrible midwestern climes for a few days.
Dates I'm currently looking at are
January 7,8,9 or 14,15,16 or 28,29,30
February 4,5,6 or 11,12,13 or 25,26,27
If I can get enough responses I'll call the school and take a more serious approach.
Road Warrior, MattG, KVozel, Cruzmisl, O-Ace...anyone? :yesnod: :yesnod:
DBK, I'm interested. A few months ago, Snide posted an inquiry along the same lines. At that time, Bragg-Smith had not announced their '02 schedule. Unless I missed his followup (if so,DOH!), it doesn't look like he pursued his initial thread. I was going to pick up the ball, but got side tracked.... I think a late Feb, March date would be perfect- sick of winter, gray skies, slush, etc. Great time for a vacation and some sunshine. Let me know!! You may want to post this over in General Discussion too.
I would post in general interest, but I was just thinking it'd be less messy if a group were to go from one specific area. Plus I know lots of hardcore drivers live in this forum...

I was looking for Bragg-Smith to post the Spring 02 schedule and hadn't seen it. Then I got busy with work stuff. I still have the names of all the people who expressed interest and was planning on contacting them once Bragg-Smith posted the schedule and once I had a chance to look at it.
Ok, I just talked with Rupert Bragg-Smith about the Level I Corvette program.
Here's the deal. If we get 8 people for the same week, we each get a $300 discount. We must all go in the same week to get the discount. They have 8 Corvettes for the program.
The weeks available are:
Jan 7, 8, 9 (1 person already enrolled)
Feb 4, 5, 6 (2 people already enrolled)
Feb 11, 12, 13 (2 people already enrolled)
Apr 8, 9, 10
Apr 15, 16, 17
For the weeks where there are 1 or two people already enrolled, they will swap in the Camaro SS's to accomodate all students.
If I remember correctly, the deposit is $800 and must be paid at time of booking. Let's pick a date, book it, then go have some fun!!
If you want to contact me about this, you can email me at alovett@mail2go.com, alovett@mediaone.net or call my cell at 603.264.4699.
Alan, based on the fact that some dates already have registrants, I would vote for April 8,9,10. Now, let's get some definite commitments from folks and just do it!! :yesnod:
sounds good. April would make more sense now because, like everyone else, I just took an almost immeasurable amount of losses this past week. By then I should have all my ducks in a row....
I was just talking with Rupert again. He has suggested April 11-13, which is the end of the week. He indicated that he could perhaps give us a better deal, since he wouldn't be cannabolizing his regular business. Also, we wouldn't have to come up with a minimum of eight. He would hold the class for 5 or 6 people.
If you're in, let me know and I'll get the ball rolling.
