Indy Corvette tech
I could not be happier with the results so far, with his committment to his projects and his customers and with this business ethics.
And NO, I don't work for or own any of Retrotech so this isn't bull. I own a high performance computing consulting company and built his Silicon Graphics CAD stations and network AFTER I had agreed to have him do my car which has a long family history. I searched for over 15 months all over the country for a shop to do this car and found Mike quite by accident within 5 miles of my house shortly after he set up in Avon. For the sake of brevity, it was one of the luckier accidents I've ever experienced.
He's pretty much a full service shop; anything he can't do in-house because he doesn't yet have the room or the tooling, he has first-rate local subs he works closely with to control quality. I know he's already working on expanding into more room in the same industrial park due to demand.
For my Avanti, we threw the entire chassis away and are building a custom tube frame with C-5 suspension and steering, all of Mike's design. (anyone who knows Avantis and the hogtrough will appreciate the engineering challenge present here) Because he doesn't yet have hydroforming or heavy tube bending equipment, he sent the heavy work to a well known chassis fabrication shop nearby. He can build high performance engines, tune chassis and suspension components to fit needs, and there's damn near nothing he can't fabricate. You should see the '57 Stude Hawk he's building and look and the bead-rolled skid plate he handmade to completely enclose the underside of the car.
Mike is a first rate engineer who not only knows Vettes inside and out, he's one of the rare guys who can do a factory-correct resto, or combine his engineering and creative talents to pull off a one-of-a-kind restorod like he's doing with my Avanti. AND, do it right the first time.
After working with Mike for over a year now, there isn't another guy in the business I trust more. I already have plans for two more cars that I'll give to him when we get the Avanti done. I'm happy to talk to anyone who wants a more personal recommendation. I'm glad to show you photos of the work he's done to date and discuss his style anytime.
