I know you don't want to here sears but there aluminum race jack is a steal for the price . the other race jacks are like $800 or more . try harbor fright ??????????
Randy,
I have a harbor freight and a Crapsman for around the house. The don't see much use and have not given me any problems. For the shop we have on purchased from MAC tools. About 6 years old and get abused. Still works good. I believe Snap-on has a very good one also. I know sales guys for both companies. I looked into the AC Hydrulic for myself for the house when the cheapo's die. These are euro made and they do sell replacement hydralic parts. Many shops have these. Here is a link:

Hey JV, unless a few fall off the back of a truck ( if ya know what I mean Capo), Sears is out of the question. Bad news, bad luck, nfg. if ya catch my drift.
I have an Omega, which has given me great service (admittedly it does not get a ton of use).
If I was in the market again and owned a vette, I'd consider this one: http://www2.northerntool.com/product-1/200329613.htm
Heck of a price for what this can do.
Pep Boys has a 3 ton low profile service jack for 100 bucks. I have the 3.5 ton version no problems except it only goes down to 3.74 ". The 3 ton goes down to 3.3", better on lowered cars.
I have 2 of the HF race style ones and they have worked flawlessly for several years. I really only use them for tire rotations, brakes, and occassional suspension work, but they work well for me. They do have two different models though, and one goes 1-2" higher, so check before you buy.
I bought mine at Manny's Auto Parts on Barrington & Weathersfield Rd. It is in the same strip mall that the Sears Hardware is in. 2.5 ton for $78.00. Works great!

These look like real nice jacks. I was looking at these a little while ago but couldn't justify the price at the time. I will buy one of these eventually, but can't at this time. The specs on them look great though

This looks nice too lower height than the other one mentioned, AC or something like that.
I got that for Randy last year. Its very light compared to his Craftsman. He said it was cheaply made and he wouldn't trust it without jackstands but aren't you always supposed to use jackstands just in case? It certainly looks cool too.
Bought one at Miers. 2" 2 1/2 ton Aluminum. Normal price was 78 and it was on sale for 39. I'll get the name and post it. Light as heck and breaks down great. Chrome and red oxidizing.
Thanks for all the responses, but thanks to wamara, I'm really leaning towards the Omega. My only minor dilemma is now I'm looking for someone locally that may handle that brand. No luck so far. I know I can order it on line, but I'm one of those touchy feely kinda guys!! Like to see the merchandise before I plop down the payola, if ya catch my drift. Sooooo, if any one knows a local distributor, that info. would be much appreciated. Thanks again.
