As a die hard cub and bear fan, and have always said i would get to chicago someday.Well i did it,im leaving friday, landing at ohare, seeing the cubs play pittsburg on Saterday afternoon,And then seeing my Bears play dallas on sunday night! As a kid growing up in new jersey i always been a cub, bear fan,to me this is a dream come true.Having watched my best freind die last year of cancer,And another frends daughter die in a car crash, started making me think that there is no time like now to do it. I went to borders and got myself a few books and i nice map of the city,And i have a few questions. First of all ill be staying at the marriot on Chestnut ave .Im guessing that the train is the best way to get to the games? Does Mike dikka still have a steakhouse there? Give some places to eat???? places to see??? Thanks to all my corvette folks for helping a nj kid the best trip of my life......................GO BEARS GO CUBBIES.
I actually grew up in New Jersey and have lived in Chicago for the last 15 years or so. You will definitely enjoy yourself. You are staying in a great spot, just a block off the Mag Mile. There is plenty to see and do within walking distance or a short cab ride away.

GIBSONS is the best steakhouse in the area (and where the elite meet to eat and you may even run into some pro athletes and our celebs) and its just within a couple of blocks from where you are staying its at 1000 N. Rush. You will DEFINITELY NEED RESERVATIONS. You are staying at the heart of all the best restaurants and night life and will have a great time!

Go crazy and order the Australian lobster tail and steak at Gibsons, its something like a 3 lb. tail. My wife and I always end up sharing it cause theres no way either one of us can eat all that food.
If you have time and weather permitting, take one of the boat trips on the Chicago river. One of the restaurants we like is Riva on Navy Pier, good food, great view. If you're looking for Bloody Mary and Burger before the game check out Blackie's on Clark and Polk, not far from the stadium.
