MI Eastsiders: Need your help!
Hey folks,
Coming over to the Palace on 9/30 for the Genesis concert. Owner of my company, his wife, my boss, his wife, my wife are riding over in a limo from GR. Problem is, I've been tasked to find a restaurant at which to eat dinner.
Need a decent dinner place, not real fancy. Don't want to be off the beaten path too far, but places like Bloomfield Hills are not out of the question. Our route will probably take us 96-696-75.
Can ya help a Corvette brutha out?
TIA
***EDIT : No chains, please. And if the place has a website, that'd be great.

Reason: addn'l info
Actually, i would recommend eating right at the Palace Grille inside the Palace. Its a nice sit down restaurant, with a good menu. You can arrive early and enjoy dinner and drinks, and then head inside to the concert.
Give them a call. Its by reservations only, I think.
I went to the palace Grill a couple of times with dinner/concert packages. The dessert table was unbelievable. If you can get in there I'm sure you won't be disappointed. You could do a city search site for the area even break it down to food choices to find something to your liking. Plenty of restr. up woodward, or in Troy, Ruth's Chris has great steaks, or there are other places on big beaver rd within a mile of I-75.
have a good time at the show, going to see the BOSS on 11/5...

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
I looked at the Palace Grille, but it might just be a little too fancy for what I'm thinking. No doubt it's good.
I've been looking all around the area on the interweb and found a few promising ones but, not knowing the area, the local knowledge is really valuable.
Let us know what the 'promising ones' are, you have in mind and we can probably give a thumbs or down.
As mentioned there are a TON of great restaurants.
Narrowing it down, might help you.

Depnding on your style, Big Buck Brewery may be a good option. I don't think you can get reservations there, and any place you go you should probably have reservations.
I think there is a Lelli's italian restaurant close to the palace, which is good. I agree the best way is to tell us what you think the promising restaurants are in your opinion and we can yay or nay. You may want to reconsider the Palace Grille, there is something to be said about arriving early , no traffic problems, ,enjoying a liesurely dinner, and having the concert right there. Sounds like with your entourage you will want it to be memorable and you would be eliminating potential drawbacks to the evening. let us know.

Big buck is NO MORE.....CLOSED like everything else in the state
Tell us what you're looking at & we can give recommendations, what kind of price per person are you looking to spend?
Gives a better idea of restraunt you're looking for.

I don't think I'd head for Big Buck Brewery!!!
On Big Beaver (take exit 69!!) off 1-75 in Troy is a great Italian restaurant, I'll butcher the spelling, Mangiamo's. If your with a group they have a multi-course group menu that is excellent and I guarantee no one will be hungry!!Not pricey with a group like you will have to split the deal.
Did you say you have a limo?? Easy just go to Dick O'Dow's Irish pub and do a whiskey tasting of Tullamore Dew, Jameson and Paddys!!
One I forgot about is "The Post" right across the street from the Palace.
Great place to go, all kinds of good food and drinks.
If you go there I would suggest you get there a little early, gets crowded an hour before the show.
BTW just kidding on the ride, were going with another couple on the tickets I won

Okay, I guess I'm leaning toward the steak/seafood thing. I've found two that are possible. O'Brien's Crabhouse in Auburn Hills, and Tom's Oyster Bar in Royal Oak.
Any reviews? Any other suggestions along those lines?
***EDIT: Ooh! Found another great looking place. Lily's Seafood Grill & Brewery. That looks like the most promising place yet. Thoughts?

Lived in the area for decades and never heard of them-Royal Oak has a million places to eat but is a little farther than you need to go.

Tom's I heard is good. I'm not a seafood fan, but friends have gone there and enjoyed it. Plan ahead, as Royal Oak can get pretty busy. expect another 30 minute drive to the palace. Possibly longer depending on when you leave to head up I-75.
that's probably the "all expressway route", but the quickest would to go 696 (west) to Telegraph (north) to West Square Lake Road (east) to 75 (north).
There's gotta be somthing over at Oakland University (University and Squirrel Road). I just can't think of anything of the top of my head.
Baldwin Rd exit has a couple offerings. Longhorns Steak House, Joes Crab Shack, and Montana's on the north side. On The Border, Chillies and Max & Ermas on the south side. I believe Longhorns is open until 10 but the rest stay open longer.

If the boss has a limo he should pop for better than this stuff!!!!!
From I75 N. get off at 16 mile Rd.(Big Beaver exit). Champs. Good atmosphere, good food. Great place to kick off a concert night. You can't go wrong. 20 minutes south of the Palace.
