Default trunk lid question

Hello everyone longtime no see.

I am replacing the shocks that are used in the trunk lid. How do they come off?
Should I use a hammer and pop them off?

Why are the easy things so difficult.

It's been a while since I had done this, and the vette is still out at the shop in storage.

But I seem to remember that there is a little clip or something that has to be slid back to release it from the ball joint that holds it? Does that sound right?

yup, there are black clips on both sides of the shock. Just get a screw driver and pry it straight out to the side. You don't need to pull it off all the way. But make sure you have something to hold up the trunk especially if you have the coupe hatch. It's gonna be heavy.

thanks everyone but the SAWZAW worked best.

After 5 minutes looking at it I did get a small screw driver and loosened the clip. All done.

Johnny I am still around but I seem to be doing more riding the Harley.

I do want to cruise to one of the lunches or maybe to the cruise inn and back next day.
