Default clutch problem

Yesterday at a stop light I got on it and the clutch stuck to the floor and would not shift out of 2nd. This has happened before during high RPM shifting. It is an 02 and 3 years ago I had the dealership but in a Z06 clutch when I had other work done. I only have 14K on the Z06 clutch and the dealership is recommending to replace clutch.
I do not go to the track so I only get on it once and a while and in normal driving it is fine.
I have been replacing the fluid using my turkey baser but have never done a complete flush.

Should I do a complete flush first?

If I have to replace clutch what are the better aftermarket?
GM seems to have a issue with theirs per this forum.

Do the work FLP or Kevin at HP?

thanks a head of time with your reply's

I did a Textrailia recently seemed to be a really nice setup. I like the fact that it comes with a matched flywheel. I would also reccomend replacing the slave/throwout bearing assembly. As well as the pilot bearing, which that kit did not include. FLP & Kevin are both good choices. I could also do it as well, but I would only want to do it at my day job. A clucth is not something I would do my my misrise lift, and would not be worth doing on the floor.

Hey Dave,

The boys at Powerhouse Performance just put in my Twin Disc McCleod clutch 2 weeks ago and it feels great after 420 miles on her already. Call John or Chris at Powerhouse in Orland Park, IL, as they have done countless LS clutches in C5s. Powerhouse has had great luck and solely recoomends the Mccleod clutch but its not cheap and is more clutch than you need but Powerhouse will and can install any clutch that you choose for a decent price and they do a great job! They are not really that far as its all highway driving on I-294 to 95th street, and then just 10 minuts south on Harlem Ave. Over the years Powerhouse has put in 3 different clutches in the different C5s I have run. If you call Powerhouse tommorrow from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM John (co-owner) will be in and can answer any questions and work out a price for you labor wise if you supply the clutch.

The Tex 0z700 that i ran for a year would be perfect for your h/cam set-up and even the LS7 clutch might be a good option for you (very affordable and should hold 425rwhp all day long). There is a Tex OZ700 for sale on the forum right now for $910 shipped with the matching flying wheel referenced by Rick above and that is a great single disc clutch that should last for years for you.

There are several very good options for you and have to do a little research and here is a good start regarding a current clutch thread currently going on in the performance results section.

Best of luck my friend and hope to run into you at a few events this season!
