Default Confused by HPDE/Drag racing type helmet requirements?

Can I just go to a motorcycle shop (etc.) and by a helmet or do I need something more specific???

It can not be a motorcycle helmet. The minimum requirement is a Snell SA 95 or newer. I purchased mine at Pegasus in Wisconsin, there was a good selection and you get to try them on for sizing.

Is SA2005 newer? I figure if I drop a couple hundy on a helmet it will inspire me to try HPDE.

I just PM'ed you the info on where I got this helmet for $205.

SA2005 is newer than SA2000. Any SA2000 helmet you buy now will be closeouts.

If you are going to buy a helmet I would look at a full face helmet......If you go carting you can use it...open face are not allowed.

Also if something does happen you face has a little more protection

Try to find something on the lighter side...you might have to spend a little more...It is much more comfortable
