Gauging Intrest
I was wondering how many of you might be intrested in a Corvette event at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn Mi. in June or Aug? This would coincide with a NASCAR Race weekend. They used to have a Corvette Corral durring a Indy Car race weekend. I have contacted MIS to do this. I thought if we get alot of Corvettes there we may be able to do a lap around the track and discounted tickets for the 2 day event.
Otherwise they said we might be able to do something durring an off weekend there. This is in the early stages of working with them at MIS. I am just wondering how many would be intrested. I will keep this updated as soon as more info is available.

Deb, I might be able to get some track time durring a weekend when there is no Race event . I will contact them next week about it, it was an option he suggested. We can do some driving on the track. I will look into this more next week. If more people are into this insted of doing something durring a NASCAR event, then we can proceed with that.

My intent was to try to mix 2 things together for people. If more people want to possibly want a time at the track other than a race, then we will procede with that. Just to run on MIS track is a blast I will get more info next week

Here's a clip from 2006 when we ran laps at MIS as a part of their annual "Corvettes@MIS" event. This'll give everyone an idea how fast they let you run. I think I hit 100 MPH on the back stretch. I've hit 125 MPH at Kentucky Motor Speedway during their "Drive the Track" day.

I am going to get some more info next week. Maybe at the next lunch I will have some more info to pass along, and see about setting a date . Then go ahead and plan a specific date if we can get alot of car owners intrested and worth the time of setting this up

Wow, how did I miss this thread
I went to Corvettes at MIS during the Indy car event. It was a lot of fun. I think it would be great to do something over there again, and if we could have track time that would be great.

I called the guy at MIS today to get more info for time on the track. Not sure how fast they let you go, but hope to have more info at the Jan Lunch to let everyone know whats up. It will no doubt be a Sat event. I would like to see alot of track time at some good speeds. As of this posting he has not returned my call.

I am interested and we will be at the June race either way. There is us and another couple that are going up for the weekend. I can not wait and if there is more of us together that would be even more fun. Looking forward to a fun weekend.
