What's the local rate charged here in Chi-Town as am trying to get my brother hooked up for a clear bra on his 08 Jet Stream Blue Z06, that covers the front bumper, and extends up about 1/3 up the hood, or whatever the normal area that most folks cover up on their new vettes?
He is a REAL FANATIC when it comes to not wanting a single rock chip on his front end and this is what he really needs for his new pride and joy C6 Z.

Front bumper+1/3rd hood+ front fenders+ mirrors+lower rocker panels+wheel wells will be +/-$600 to $650. I would not tape less than those areas. 3M tape or Avery are the brands to consider. Both are thicker tapes. I think one of these companies bought Venturesheild a while back. Ventureshield is a thinner tape and easier to apply. 3M tape has a flatter appearance on the car and Avery tape has a orange peel effect to it. Both installers recommended in this thread are . The hardest part is to find a good installer which this thread has done. Also look at a countour/bikini cut on the hood - it is a curved cut that hides the tape line better on the hood better.
IMO .... I would wait to get a car taped until the weather warms up - after a tape job it's good to let the car bake in the sun. That will strtetch it and get air bubbles and such out easier. Dinos color should hide the tape color pretty well - silver is the best and black is the worst color.
Make sure the installer uses a pre cut pattern - that saves them from doing a lot of trimming on the car with a blade. I woiuld also do the prep work myself then let the installer do his thing. Just a safety measure that will insure the tape goes down on a wax/polish free surface. There is one installer I would stay away from if Dino decides on looking around outside of this thread PM me and I'll give you a stay away from name.

And my Z has a ton of small rock chips on the front end as it is driven 5000 miles a year!
However, I guess if i just bought a brand new C6 Z06 (or ZR1 for sure) I would probably put on the clear bra if I planned on keeping the car for a long time (5+ years). I have owned my current Blown Z for over 4 years now and do not anticpate getting rid of it anytime soon!
Thanks for the great info hear guys and will pass it on to my brother Dino (Spadino).

With the way the market is these cars will never be worth sh** . Maybe in thirty years but there won't be any gas to drive them . Even the new zr1 will never appreciate in value . J.m.h.o.
