I'm in Mankato and just bought my 11 GS too.. also joined the MVCC... I missed the dinner meeting last weekend but hope to shop up at an event or two if time permits. This weather is killing me! I've already put 300 miles on her and I washed and waxed and detailed it for the first time now and it's been sitting for a week!
That was my second meeting and I really had a great time. Everyone is really awesome.
I'm a GL'er and I'm looking forward to the "opener".
I'm a new member of the MNVCC as well. Went to the January meeting, but missed the Feb and March meetings. Looking forward to getting the car out soon, but it might be a while with this weather we've been having.
Hmm. Maybe some of us city boys should drive down to kato for this. It's only a 45 min drive.
Any cars are welcome?
You bet! Classics, rods, customs, old muscle, new muscle, low riders and also trucks and motorcycles. It would be a nice drive thru the Minnesta River Valley.
I grew up in Kato and graduated MEHS in '86. Sibley Park, Thompson ravine, Downtown mall, Mettlers, The Oleander, were great hangouts. With a 19yr old drinking age, you could easily pass at 17.
Awesome town to grow up in as well for a teenager with no wheels, other than the ones you pedal
Wow Zone would be a good place for a car show......Gotta be easier to get in and out of than Busters. One thing that could help make this work is to allow beer outside. I know Busters started to allow this using fencing.
And Beer Specials - well that's just icing on the cake.
Doug - who is sponsoring this event?

We at the Wow Zone are putting the event together and hosting it. We do have Radio Mankato (with 7 stations), Budweiser and Pepsi as major sponsors. We also have targeted up to 12 more local sponsors who would typically market to car and bike enthusiasts!
We did the Henderson roll in on Tuesdays last year and that was a blast. It's nice to have options to change it up a little.

I agree Busters is tough to get in and out of and I agree you have to allow beer outside. Why have a car show if you can sit outside with the cars.
I also will be there. Thanks for the heads up everyone!!
You know that came up at today's staff meeting. We have facilities inside the building for crowds up to 500 people. If you haven'y been to the Wow! Zone before it is over 44,000 sq. ft.!
Do you think we should have a few Porta Potties outside too? I know it would add to our cost but I do understand the convenience factor.
I doubt it's necessary Doug, IMO. Plus it gives people a reason to go inside and check out the place. You guys advertising to the local car clubs etc? Will you guys allow beer outside?
Sounds like a good time. I'll show up for sure.
PS: I didn't trade for that convertible this winter, the guy found a local C3 and went with that. Probably for the best, dont' know what I was thinking.....

I was just thinking out loud. I guess my spell checker is pretty bad too. Lol. The one issue I've had while there when it's busy is it takes a long time for food... Is this going to be burgers on a grill outside? Looking forward to it!
First time I have seen this thread. Chaska here and I go to most of the cars and cafe and now I will be there with my new AW GS this year. If no snow I will bring it this Sat for sure, only 3 miles from my house.
