Default Wheel alignment in Twin Cities

Lowered the car on stock bolts. Looking for an alignment shop in the cities that I can trust. Local shop in Shakopee told me with the vette there was some "special" adjustments to be made on our cars....OK, yeah, right. Anyhow, If you can recommend someone that would be great. I am on the Southwest side but willing to drive for the right guy. Thanks in advance.

Call Bob at Mankato Oil & Tire. The # is 507-387-3484.

They have aligned and lowered Corvettes and I know sell a lot of tires to Corvette owners. I just talked to him this AM.

Tell him Doug DeMarce recommended him!

Give Randy at Doug Rippie Motorsports a call. He can probably give you a good recommendation, if they aren't doing it themselves.

On the north Metro, Andover Wheel and Frame does a lot of Corvettes, C2 C3 C4. Not sure about C5s though.

I honestly had great luck with Tires Plus up in Circle Pines. The managers were car guys and treated my car nice.

Special adjustments? From other threads I read that is BS and some companies try to charge to extra for a vette. Just the standard 4 wheel alignment.

I think what tire guys mean by "special adjustments" is that the factory specs call for an alignment that promotes aggressive cornering ability at the expense of tire wear.

What a knowledgeable shop can do is tweak the alignment a little to give you longer tire wear while not compromising the handling too much. Unless you are road racing your car you will not likely notice any difference!

It doesn't (or shouldn't) cost any more; it is just aligning it to a different set of specs.

Doug
