Default Vettewrench comes through!

Had my Z51 sway bars installed by Brian and at the same time had him install a new wiring harness and T84 headlights with 100/90 bulbs. The sway bar installation was a piece of cake for him! The car rides just as comfortable as before except that now I can take those on/off ramps MUCH quicker! My daughter says it feels like she is on a rollercoaster ride! :D Now the headlamps were installed pretty much without a ton of work, but for some reason they would not go down when in the low beam mode. They went down while in high which was confusing  Anyway, Brian pretty much sacrificed his whole day trying to make this right for me and was so apologetic like it was his fault when after all it was not anyones fault. He told me that he would get to the bottom of it and once they figured out what was going on he would make it right! Needless to say, he found out what was going on and came through like I knew he would. He is a class A guy and a hell of a business man as he knows how to take care of his customers. Maybe he should give some kind of class to the local Chevy dealers on how to treat customers so we would not hate most of them! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again Brian and Tim and Hampton as you all had your parts in getting these baby's working right! Next gathering, first round is on me!

Jim,
I'm happy for you on your new mods. However, I was just wondering what it is that you have against the "Local Chevy" Dealers. From where I am standing I don't think you were ever treated like crap. Please do not make derrogatory comments toward the dealer unless they give you a reason to. :mad :chevy
It is hard enough to keep Dealer customers happy, and comments like that are not needed. Thank You

Jim,
Thanks for sharing your positive experience about the recent work done on your car. Too many times we hear only about the problems and it is refreshing to hear the good stories when a shop does a good job and goes that extra mile. I don’t believe your post was a slam towards "Local Chevy" Dealer shops. But, I have to agree that some of them (I am NOT naming names here) do NEED some customer service lessons from Brian’s crew.

Jason, please reread my original post as this was not at any way a shot at you or your service. :nono: In the post I said "Maybe he should give some kind of class to the local Chevy dealers on how to treat customers so we would not hate most of them! " . We all have heard of horror stories of many dealerships in the area. I personally have delt with 3 different Chevy dealerships with the Vette, being Sunrise, Wickstrom, and Team and 2 others that I can't remember the names of but are in Elk Grove and Mt. Prospect on other cars. Of those 5, only you at Team Chevy seemed to be professional and cared about the customer and the car. The other 4 were in my opinion just your typical car salesmen/ mechanics that could care less about you or your cars problems. If someone goes out of his or her way to do something for you I believe that it should be noted and acknowledged. The same goes for some one that does not do the job as expected or treats you any different than the next guy. I have first hand experience of having my mother go to 2 different Chevy dealers to buy a Cavalier and they both were screwing around with her on prices and trying to push her into more car than she wanted. :mad Once I went with her to both places their pitches changed rather quickly. Then once she got the car she wanted, she would have the same problems upon taking it in for service. One time she even had a half dozen cigarette buts in the ash tray. SHE DID NOT SMOKE!:mad :mad Even on the Vette purchase, they screwed the order up 2 times and if I didn't have Ken Fichtner check on the order for me, my car would have been delivered missing 1 top, and missing the museum delivery even though my paper work had it all signed by me and the salesman!!!!!! Ken went out of his way to check on the order for me and help me get it right even though he had nothing to profit from on the sale. I feel that if you’re black or white, male or female, young or old, you should be treated as a paying customer and treated with the same respect as the next person. No difference ever. There have been many posts of how great you and your service is so I do not think any one would put you in the category of "MOST" You are a stand out because people get great service from you. You have done work on my car and I was nothing short of very pleased with the quality of it.:yesnod: I am very particular about who works on my car and you are one of a very select few that I feel comfortable with. So to go back and check your original statement about reasons to make comments, I do have them. Again, I have nothing but respect for you as I am sure a lot of guys here do. DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE TO THIS PERSONALLY!!!!:)

I have also heard that Team Chevy is one of the few that takes care of their customers. I looked there before I bought my '92 and do remember them treating me better then most. :seeya

Dont be messing with my boy Jason :mad , I'll f**k you up (J/K :D ), but seriously he is one of the best Corvette techs in this whole area, he knows his $ hit as other dealerships and shops in the area are always calling him when they need expert advice, he cares very much about his work which is top notch no B.S that is why he took that comment personally , his customer skills are one of the best I have ever seen.

Tim- I think everyone on the forum expects to (or maybe should) take some flack for any comments they make, so dont worry about people taking things serious that were obvious jest--note that Dave gave Jim the "big teeth" smilie in his post just to clarify he wasnt picking a fight (god I love that smilie)!

How about everyone just get along? I know.... :U

Hey Dave, Nobody IS messing with yo BOY! Perhaps a little DEcaf should be considered in the near future!!  Like you said, he is called on by many in the area for advise so he is obviously in a very select group. Course my original statement holds up even better when others need to call on him to get advise as they simply do not have the skills set needed that he and Vettewrench seem to have. Not that knowing where to get the answers is a bad thing, it is just a little more comforting knowing you can take your car to these guys and odds are they will know what to do with it! Lets face it, with both these guys, we are pretty well covered on just about anything that can go wrong! :yesnod:

I was just joking guys hence the J/K :D , it was just a figure of speech, just like saying that you are going to suck the paint off a car you race, if you really meant that it would be really bad and expensive(even if it was a mustangs paint  ) , absolutely positively no harm intended, sorry some took it the wrong way.

Jason is the Man, he certainly knows his stuff and is very customer oriented. I have bought 3 cars from Team Chevy and I have been very satisfied with my sales and service experience so far.

I think the original post here was kind of stereotyping dealerships and as all of us have probably had a bad experience or two its not fair to lump all the dealerships into the bashing.

Just for the record.......someone above stated that Lattof Chevy was in Mt. Prospect, it is located in Arlington Heights on Rt. 14 I have had my car serviced there quite a few times and Frank Gargano who is the corvette tech there is also very knowledgable and does great work.

Im sure Dave meant no harm with his little joke, I really dont think anyone should have taken that seriously:)
