Just a thought as the car season up North (I'm on Hilton Head Island)
starts to crank up full bore - looking forward to leaving a little rubber on Woodward in August!!-
---Just a thought to remember and raise a glass to one of the best guys I have ever known - Ken King
I did meet him in Kentucky. He came over to Canada one summer and a group of us drove our C5's up to St. Thomas drag strip. I agree, talking to him etc. he seemed to be a great person.
Dennis . . . . it's been 5 years. I sometimes wonder if people still remember Ken or think about him and all he did for so many people and what a unique man he was. You are so right, he was one of the BEST.
I think he'd be real happy you made this post and mentioned him. I know I am.

Met Ken at Bowling Green right after he made the interior pieces for my '00. Great guy and would do anything to make sure the customer was happy with his products. He is sorely missed.
Don't worry, Cindy, I'll never take the KK sticker off the Vette's windshield and the memory of Alex's (I think it was him) burnout at the funeral home is etched in my mind. Deb & I hope to see you sometime this summer.
You know, as I was prepping to start up the C5 this past weekend after a long winter, I looked at the KK sticker in my windshield and thought about how long ago it was that Ken passed.
Upgrading my interior with Vette Essential seats was the greatest treat. I remember Cindy coming with me for the install, telling me it was ok to spend that kind of money on myself!
I still have the electron blue short shift boot he gave me the last time I saw him. He was always excited to see me because that meant he could talk extensively about GUNS!! He was a great guy!
Great Post Denny! I can't believe its been 5 years already. I can still remember the last conversation that I would ever have with him on the night that he passed!

Wow is this something, this afternoon I was going thru some stuff in the garage and came across my KK sticker.
Sure do miss Kenny but it sure doesn't feel like 5 years have gone by!

I can't believe it's been 5 years...sure miss the guy. He is well known for his leather work, but there was another side to his love for the C5. Ken and I were the first to come up with putting mesh screens in all the other openings during one of our brainstorming sessions I used my pull at Ford to obtain a few samples of electroplated wire mesh from England (yes, I bull ****ted the vendor into thinking it was for some fancy new sportscar Ford was working on). Ken did some experimenting with it and we were going to get rich selling them...I still have one of the pieces, and every time I look at it in my shop I think about him. Also, he was first to discover the european amber side markers, and ran them on his yellow C5....
I never had the privilege of meeting Ken, but I spoke to him once on the phone about a question I had on my interior. He treated me as if he had known me for years.
Hard to believe it’s been that long, Ken was truly a great guy that treated everyone as a friend.
You don’t get to meet that many kind, respectful people in this life so to be able to call a man like Ken a friend was an honor.
RIP Ken
