Aggravated. I parked in the Forum area, right next to the Western Corvette Club sign and tent, (I actually blocked the sign, but that's where the crew told me to park), and found that someone clipped my rear deck emblem off of my 67 convertible. I think it was an original emblem as well. Can't trust anyone. Looks like I need to install the Wifi cameras and video surveillance on my car now.
Incredibly unusual. Most vette owners really watch out for each other. I'm really surprised this would happen, especially when you figure most people there paid 20 bucks to get in. Just hard to imagine they would do things like this.
Just because they are corvette guys doesn't mean you can't be an a$$hole.
Let's also remember there was access to Corvette parking areas by the general public. What better show souvenir for some punk than a part from a great car?

not really. we see posts like this every year after Carlisle and Bloomington...people suck
Sorry to hear about this. I guess I'm naive when I think that there are some places where I expect a car to be safe and one of those places would be a huge gathering of car people.
I am sorry to hear about the theft. An acquaintance of mine had his Marina Blue '67 427/435 convertible Benchmark certified last weekend at Bloomington Gold. After the car was judged someone took his Oil filler cap off and turned to walk away with it. His family started shouting and ran over to see what the guy was doing. He explained he "was just looking at it." Right

You'd think it'd be safe but I heard something similar happening at the dells corvette show a couple weeks ago. Two thieves operating as a team, one guy distracts the corvette owner and the other starts untwisting air cleaner parts. This time he was stopped before he got it. The owner asked and questioned what he was doing and the guy explained he's a mechanic. Yeah, like that makes it ok.
