Did the ti's, got the vararam- hoping to get it installed real soon, next step for me probably is headers. My question to all of u in Illinois- have you had any problems passing emissions after the install- especially in Chicago. I'm probably going with the LG streets but haven't decided yet.
Thanks,
Les

You will need to have it tuned in some cases they have to shut off the rear o2 sensors so you pass the obd II port test . As long as the car has no codes you pass been running long tubes and high flow cat for 8 years or so no problems

That's good to hear. Do the high flo cats come with the headers?
Did you get a tune after your headers?
Cats are part of the middle of the exhaust, a seperate $$$ deal (unless the LG's can connect with your stock plumbing???).
Cold air + long tubes + x pipe = tune
Yeah I would get the catted version. I see the they run a little more than the non-catted version. What king of effect did they have on the sound of your car?

Johnny's assesment is 100% accurate.
Also, to answer your question, YES, you want to get tuned AFTER the headers and ALL your other mods are on the car. I would not make sense any other way.

Do u guys have a tuning guru in the Chicago land area?

With the high flow cats you will probably pass just fine, I haven't installed a set with cats that has required tuning to pass emissions, though it will definitely help performance wise. The vararam and long tubes are the 2 best bolt on's you can do. Tuning once both are installed would be the best idea. If you need the rear 02's turned off (FOR NON STREET USE due to emissions laws) I have HP-Tuners Professional. As for a reccomendation on tuning there are alot of places out there for it. I've had a few customers use FLP.
As far as headers go there are many brands out there to choose from, I really liked the dynatech's.

Rick,
I got a feeling we will be having a nice long talk about headers sometime in the near future.
Keep in touch about how your week is panning out and let me know how it looks for next weekend.

Give or take a few horsepower one way or the other header choice has IMHO always been a "pick-um". Fitment can be an issue with some but if you are not putting them in yourself that's Rick's problem.
If you are staying pretty much where you are at modwise 1-3/4" dia is for you, if the sky is the limit then you want 1-7/8" dia. American Racing Header, L.G. Motorsports, Kooks Custom Headers, Stainless Works, Melrose Motorsports and of course you know of Dynatech, that should give you some places to consider. Stay with high flo cats, no reason not to!
There is a wealth of knowledge on this site and the search tool can be very helpful. One thing for the future is to ask your questions BEFORE you buy your parts. Much of the knowledge here was learned the hard way.
You are certainly headed in the right direction with Rick Anthony, he will treat you and your car with kid gloves...

No, I definitely don't have the talent to put them in. Rick is the man!!!
I do ask a lot of questions. I did before I got the Ti's, before I got my stereo setup and before I picked a CAI. When I get closer to having my header money (ie. Birthday and Christmas - thanks Wifey) I will definitely do my my homework. Don't think I'll be able to get them before then so this will most likely be a Spring 2012 project.
I do want to change this shifter though. Has some pretty long throws. Seriously looking at the MGW shifter. This is something I think I'll be doing fairly soon.
Thanks for all the help and advice guys. I know some of my questions are noob questions so I appreciate your responses. Even the funny ones.
