be careful out here

Gotta figure there will be plenty of traffic lights out in the area too!
Had planned to be heading to the Sunrise Chevy show right now but it's still raining here.

My brother and his wife told me that at 3:30 a.m. Elmhurst sounded the Tornado Sirens which I passed out for and did not hear. They most have sounded them b/c of flash flooing in the area b/c there was not any Tornado Warnings in the area. Crazy chit!

Bob, the Vampire kit will have to live another day.
Hope the evening is not a wash out but its starting to looks more positive for this evening.

AMAZINGLY, the entire area held up GREAT, and I figured out that with the severe drought we had we hardly any moisture for a solid month, the creeks, and river levels where real low, and that helped absorb the water hit.
My yard normally would be flooded, but b/c the dirt areas was like concrete (b/c of said drought) I am good to go.

I recall 2 years ago when we got socked like that but not quite as bad as last night, the Eisenhower expressway was completely flooded the next day around the Forest Park area into the west side of Oak Park, and building nearby my wife's office were underwater. The intense heat drought we had helped deal with this massive downpour of rain for 3 hours, and we needed the rain, but that was ridiculous.

I.A.C.U. - Yea, that's got a ring to it...

My roof is getting OLD, and with each wicked storm I am always on pins and needles over this same issue that happended to you.
Its official, this was the most rain that fell in a 24 hour period, since 1871.
I mean we desperately needed some rain with the drought we have been in the last month, but that storm and rain in a 2 hour period that we got, was simply RIDICULOUS!

So much rain fell in just 3 hours roughly 1-4 a.m. that even if another drop of rain did not fall in the month, it would still be in the top 10 of wettest july's ever

This summer has had the most severe storms packed together that I can recall in a LONG time.
