These were taken on the Cherahola skyway and the road to the highlands with the waterfalls http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/g...view=slideshow
A little shack we found while we were down there. We use it as our winter home.
Seriously this is the Biltmore Estate in Asheville NC. In my opinion a must do if you are down there. It is about a 2 hour drive from Gatlinburg and you need to allow 4-6 hours for the tour of the estate.
When in October are you going? My wife and I are planning on going down there in October as well but haven't decided on the weekend of the 8th or the 15th. We are looking at cabins in either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. If you are going to be there when we go and are planning on hitting the dragon, would you mind a tag-a-long?
We are going Oct. 7-9. We are going to do the tail of the dragon on Sunday before we head home. We always say, The More The Merrier. Send me a pm with your E-Mail and we can stay in touch.
There is a Corvette Expo in Sevierville, right outside Pigeon Forge October 14 & 15. It is suoosed to be a big show and swap meet. When I did TOD the locals told me about it and said it was a good time.
Just did this trip in the spring with my wife and my dad and his wife... It was a great time Big Casino in Cherokee if you are in to a little gambling. Then you can take NC 28 over to the Tail of the Dragon but in my opinion the run from North to South is the most fun... Plenty of fun to be had the women can shop till they drop at the outlet mall while you drive the wheels off the Vette. Probably make it an annual trip to be honest.
I think I will be in Pigeon Forge Oct. 6,7,8 maybe we can get together. My dad and my sister will be there with their vettes also
Yeah that would be cool! We will probably get down there late afternoon/early evening on the 7th. Maybe the 8th for lunch before you take off or something?
I thought about going to that too, but Memphis is about 350 miles away from Gatlinburg and that would add quite a bit of time to our trip home on the 10th. Gonna try to make the St. Judes thing next year though.

We are counting the days. It looks like gas prices are going to stay down for us. Weather is forcast to be nice also. Have a safe trip and we will give you a call when we get down that way.

Sweet! Getting ready to figure out what we NEED to bring vs what we want to bring. We are so accustom to our Edge for traveling, this will be our first trip in the Vette. Should prove interesting to see what we will actually be able to fit in it!
