Well Coach Lovie is all happy because he proclaimed his mediocre team to be 1 and 0 in the 2012 season!!! Of course 8-8 is right where he wants to be to end on a positive note and not loose ground on his prolific win loss record.
I wonder how Urlacher felt about ekking out a big win over a 3 and 12 team that would have won the day by not missing their field goal chances?
I suppose he had time to savor the victory while dragging his "questionable this week" knee up to the locker room...
Jerry Angelo is FIRED! The reason? He didn't get the players necessary to do the job on the field, from an offensive line to protect the QB, to receivers to catch the ball, to etc., etc.
Dave Toub is expected to interview for the Miami Dolphins’ head-coaching opening, according to a league source.
Toub, who is not under contract for 2012, also figures to attract interest from other teams as a special-teams coordinator. The Bears have ranked among the best special-teams units in the NFL since Toub was hired in 2004.
‘‘Dave has been here every day I’ve been here, so I think it’s pretty safe to say that I kind of like what he does,’’ Lovie Smith said. ‘‘But I know Dave has goals, too. I know Dave would like to be a head coach, and I hope he has that opportunity some day.’’

As a Cowboys fan I would be glad to send you Jerry Jones for your next GM then he could be back with Roy Williams. Anytime you start feeling sorry for youselves remember somebody always has it worse off than you.... ME

(WSCR) After the firing of general manager Jerry Angelo, Bears president Ted Phillips made it clear that head coach Lovie Smith will have a say in who is hired to replace Angelo.
One NFL expert thinks that is a recipe for disaster.
“I never like the fact that you’re hiring your boss,” former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. “That never works. Every GM that I’ve ever known, the moment he gets his job, he wants to hire his head coach, the guy that he believes works for him and his going to do what he says when it comes to players.”
Once a GM is hired, though, his first duty will be to assess the Bears’ divisional rivals and see what it will take to stop them.
“I know one thing,” Esiason said,” if I’m coming in there to be the general manager, there are two teams I’m looking at: Detroit and Green Bay. What do those two teams have? They have great offensive players. You have got to find athletes on that aging defense that are going to stop those offenses. Because I don’t believe that they believe in Chicago that they’re going to be able to score 34 points a game to beat the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.”
