Planning to come to Chicago in November
What area do you recommend for hotel stay that's outside of downtown Chicago ?
Thanks
It's usually cheaper to stay in the suburbs just outside the city. There are lots of hotels near the O'Hare airport area to choose from. The city/downtown is easily accessible from there.
If you're headed downtown, there's always Navy Pier, Millenium Park, the Lakefront, and the museums to check out. Beware, though, that public parking downtown can be pricey. If you want to head up a little further north of Chicago, there's Six Flags Great America/Hurricane Harbor theme park and Gurnee Mills nearby for indoor shopping. There are also plenty of hotels in the area to choose from. Either way, there's lots to see and things to do on a weekend trip to the Chicago area.
I would agree with the O'Hare/Rosemont area. Lots of hotels, easy access to highways/public transportation and a new entertainment district.
Rosemont would be a good central area, Woodfield Mall 20mins. west, Gurnee Mills mall - 40 mins. north, downtown Chgo. 20 mins. east ( open hwy.), 1 hr. (heavy traffic), all hwy. driving. Rosemont is building an outlet mall, not sure if it would be open by Nov. Rosemont entertainment district is geared more towards adults, restaurants/bars, but it has an ice rink in the winter, would that be open in Nov.,?. oh yea, Rivers Casino, 5 mins. north, haven't been there yet. American Doll store is at Water Tower Place, you may be able to street park and feed the cash cow.
