Default Road America ALMS/Grand AM Race August 8 - 11, 2013

For those of you who have never been to an event like this, I’ve put together a check list so that you can have great time.

Race Ticket/Paddock Passes> Goes without saying.
Lawn/Bag Chairs> There is plenty of room by our cars in the corral under the trees (shady areas) to set up camp.
Coolers> I normally bring 2 coolers, 1 lager cooler and 1 small cooler. The lager cooler stays in the car and I transfer items (water/sodas ect) to the small coolers to take into the grand stands. Note, coolers and purses will be searched by the GP Staff prior to entrance to the grand stands.
Footwear> I know you lady’s like to be fashionable, but sandals, pumps and stilettos will not be very comfortable as there are many areas that have gravel walkways.
Weather> This race will happen “rain or shine”. At a minimum, bring a disposable poncho in case you get caught in the rain.
Ear Plugs> These cars are LOUD!
Sun> Sun Screen, Sun Screen, Sun Screen!
Camera> you may want to snap a few pics

Don't expect to see the race well from the Corvette Corral, its really a terrible location with a ton of crap in front of track.

Truth be told. Also you are not within walking distance to the pits. Top of turn 5 and 6 by the Corvette Bridge is a great spot to watch the race and walking distance to the pits. Lots of shaded area clean bathrooms and food stands. Ample parking

Attached is the schedule for Corvette Corral @ Road America.

http://www.alms.com/sites/default/fi...schedule_0.pdf

Does anyone know if parking will be available in the corral area prior to the "official opening Saturday"?

the corral is open at all times.

FYI ... there is some construction on HWY 57 in sheboygan county between plymouth and random lake. traffic is reduced to 1 lane on each side. they are resurfacing and taking their time about it. usually flows at a pretty good pace but be sure to allow some extra time just in case.

also there is some lane closures on hwy 23 between sheboygan and plymouth. it looks to me like they are redoing the shoulders.

Default corvette corral opening

the track opens at 7am. the corral is always open, the tent hospitality and sign up is what is being mentioned in the schedule.
by the way, i was there yesterday for the ferrari weekend and the tent is already up in the corvette corral. i am hoping that gm bring c7's to display under the tent .
