My friend Rick flew in from Iowa City yesterday to give my son and I a hand; Thanks Rick! The cluster is back in, the Bubba version of a Presidential Solution to the wiring has been corrected, or at least all of them I could see. Around 4:30 yesterday afternoon we fired it up!
I cant, at this point, say enough good things about Shariroff Racing! We primed the carb, and I don't think the crank made 2 turns before she fired!
The side pipes still need final mounting, and the steering needs to go back in, but it is all small stuff now!
I will post a few more pics later this afternoon, and maybe a video if I can figure out how to do it.
I will purchase it back now and even give you a few thousand profit and a lunch. You don't need to drive a loud car like that. Your just asking for tickets. Think of all the trouble I am keeping you out of. Get it wrapped up and let me know when to come down.
LOL!!!
Looks great, can't wait to come down and give it a tire modification!!!!

I was going to make a similar offer but will sweeten the pot with a fine single malt!
That video sounds like "the heartbeat of America"!
Thanks everyone for the kind words! It does sound pretty nice
The steering column is in (test fit), and the teak wheel (also test fit). I have a few clean up items on the to do list and some travel later this week, but with a little luck, it should be out ~ 4/17.
Took the car out for a little shake down yesterday afternoon. So far so good! No major issues to speak of. The little stuff still needs to be done, and I have a bit of an "off idle" stumble that I am 90% certain is fuel related.

I am going to give the stumble issue a few more miles. The fuel in the car was from last year. Treated with Stabil before put away, but from last year none the less. There were about 3 or 4 gallons left in the tank, so a fresh fill and a few more miles are in order. If that doesn't clear it up, I will need to look at the accelerator pump.
I almost forgot how much "fun" carburetors could be ...... almost
Solved the issue with the alternator and drive belt. Replaced the rubber upper radiator hose with a metal one to add some clearance on the belt. Still a bit of an issue with the hose adapter sealing to the thermostat housing. there are 2 pieces of "rubber"; one inside of the other to adapt the SS line to the thermostat housing. I suspect that a couple of heat cycles will allow them to seal themselves. Found a small ( </= 3 drops) oil leak after driving the car. Spoke to Shaffirof, and was told this is not uncommon with the Milodon oil pan. I think I may have it sealed
Still chasing a small PS leak. It is coming from the pump, but I am not quite sure exactly where. Spilling the PS fluid when I filled it doesn't help locating the source
The last big issue is rocker panel moldings. I need to trim the moldings to clear the headers / side pipes. I don't want to cut my original moldings, so I thought that I would order a cheap replacement pair, and cut them. BAD NEWS ....................... Rocker panel moldings for a 66 have been discontinued by every vendor out there I wound up ordering a set for a 65 and will cut them. I doubt that anyone other than Tommy or Rick will notice They should be here end of this week or early next.
