Tim you are unbeleivable. Your enthusiasm for this is unhearolded. Site looks great and the color combo is super.
Thanks for the compliments on our site to.
PS, can you change my link so that it goes to http://www.corvettechallenge.info . I use the index.shtml page to be the first one and the home.shtml to be the one that users go to when they click home. This way after events I change the index.shtml to point to the event page directly and then if you click home you will be at the original home page.
Thanks
Thanks! I'm meeting with Arnie and Don tomorrow afternoon to start working out the details. Once everything is figured out, the site will be updated ASAP.
REDGAR, I'll make the change, give me 5 minutes. :D
Tim, The site looks great and I agree with the Great lakes thing.
If I can do anything to help you, Don or Arnie let me know. I will do what I can to get the Interest going around here. I know of at least three here in Indy including myself as of now that will do it. Again Great job!
Way cool! Definitely "Great Lakes" instead of "Illinois". Heck, I live in Illinois, but the only track I've raced at is in Wisconsin. Can't wait for next year!
Thanks everyone!!! Arnie, Don and I met tonight and worked out some details INCLUDING using Great Lakes in the name. :D
Art91, talked with the body shop this morning. They are putting it back together and it looks like I should have it back this time next week. I may swing by Saturday and check it out/snap some pictures. The guy I've been working with sounded really excited and said my patience has paid off. He's very happy with the paint and feels I will be too. I BETTER!!
It should be a great time next year. Here's my dilema.....laughable times on the strip. Here's my question since I am total stock:
1 - What to upgrade first (intake, exhaust, gears, tires)?
2 - Where to get any work done that is affordable?
3 - If my plans over the next few years include some mods to the engine, should I plan on a certain portion first?
See I went dragracing once at Byron with ZR_Don and that group now I need more speed!
Any assistance would be great!
Hope to see you guys in the spring/summer, and I'll be sure to bring my WI friends! :chevy
If your car is consistent right now, don't change a thing. Bracket racing is not about how fast you are, it's about how CONSISTENT you are.
Quick story... when I was stationed in Norfolk, VA I would go to a local track to watch the "Big Boys" race. Trailered big block Chevelles and Chargers, tunnel ram intakes, dual quads, blowers, etc...
When it came to bracket racing time, the guy who ALWAYS won was an older man in a bone stock Cavalier Z24. 16 sec 1/4 mile times, but he was very consistent in the times the car ran.
Being the fastest doesn't matter in bracket racing. But, if you do want to makes some upgrades to make your car faster, gears are a nice choice.
I emailed Great Lakes Dragway in WI and they would like to be part of the Challenge. They are going to let me know which weekends would work (using Test/Tune days).
Just let me know when you're ready to chat about a schedule.
Can't wait for next year

Hey Matt!
I got to meet some of the GLD guys over the weekend at the Chicago Chevy/Vettefest. I also got the name of the person responsible for setting of Events. Hopefully we can keep to momentum going on this! I got an Email out to Arnie and Bubblehead on this as well. Thanks for the help! We will keep you all posted with the Website and the threads here! :chevy

I've talked to the Operations Manager at Route 66 about the possibility of adding the Great Lakes Corvette Challenge to their bracket racing series. They gave it a lot of consideration, but they just can't fit us in, they have as many cars as they can handle now.
Was that the leading track for you guys? You still another track or two you can trie right?
Route 66 is by far the best track in the area, but their tech inspections are also the toughtest, by the book(NHRA), no exceptions. I may run in their bracket series anyway, top 10 in points qualify for a national bracket racing event at IRP.
We still have Byron and Great Lakes, both have expressed an interest in holding the Corvette Challenge.
