The only dates we can get at area hotels are April 18th & 19th. The host hotel will be the AmeriHost Inn & Suites. It is located at the junction of Route 33 & East State Street. Their phone # is 740-594-3000. When you call, mention that you are with the Athens Spring Cruise. They are saving a block of 20 rooms but we can add more if needed. The rate is $ 84.99 and they will have a wash station set up for our use. They also have an indoor pool and Continental breakfast. If the weather is warm enough we are hoping to have a cook out on their patio area Saturday night.
I will have more finalized later this week. I'm hoping to have Damon's portable grill for the Saturday dinner & Chris and I will host a bbq for the Friday arrivals at our house. I have a meeting tonight with the gm from Damon's and will meet with the Chevy dealer tomorrow. Plans are to have a Cruise In at Damon's parking lot on Saturday and and a reception at the Chevy dealership. I'm lining up sponsors for the Cruise In awards and we should have some cool plaques, trophies, etc. There will probably be a charge for the cookout on Saturday and if we don't have too many I'll try to cover the cost of Friday myself.
Since Sunday is Easter I thought it would be approtiate to cruise through the scenic Hocking Hills on that day. Please let me know when you can about attending so I can plan for Friday, etc. I have some other things lined up for door prizes but will post that info when I get the rest finalized. More to come....
I actually saw the thread in the C5 General section, then came here. Us poor folks in WV seem to have been placed in the wrong region...Northeast. Most of the stuff that goes on there is up in NJ, MA and DE.
Sounds like a great time. We'll keep you posted. :seeya
