Are convertibles allowed to compete in the GLCC?

To answer your question, yes they are, why not..... but you must be in track guidelines for their rules depending on your speed...

Maybe someone with a convertible can chime in here and explain what they may be at Byron or GLD

This has been asked before I think.
NHRA rules says that verts need need a roll bar if you are faster than 13 sec if I remember right.
Any way, the only track around here with strict tech inspection is Rt. 66.
That is why (most likley) that the GLCC runs at Byron and GLD.
I've seen verts with no roll bars/cages in the 11's at both tracks with no problems. In tech inspection, if they ask how fast do you plan on running just tell 'em you plan on running 13's!
If you go faster, I don't think they care.
Bring a helmet!
