Default "Backstreet Performance get together............."

Anyone around Medina, Akron, Cleveland (Mansfield/ Columbus/ Lexington) want to do a "gearhead" get together, talk Corvette's day? Winter blaws are in full swing. Might even have a Viper to dyno that day too. Sat. February 7th. Let me know........JCL

Sounds like fun. I will have to wait until next week to commit as I am awaiting some info about my schedule for two Saturdays in Feb.

Definitely pencil me in. Won't know if I'm working until that Friday, but I'd like to talk to them about a few ideas I've been having. :blueangel:

Have a good time, guys.

:yesnod: It was the STARTER.... NOT the engine...

The casing apparently broke, pieces of which got jammed into the Bendix, locking it in place. Of course my flexplate has a couple of bent teeth in it, so that will be getting replaced also. Also debating on whether I want to upgrade my Torque converter... since the Transmission has to be uplled for the flexplate. :steering:

This is very good news! I always thought it seemed like a starter deal and am glad it was !! If you are serious about it, I NOW IS the time to change the converter since all the labor is being paid for anyway. You can get a decent converter for a few hundred dollars and with an L98, it will REALLY allow you to take advantage of the torque you make.

Steve, great news that it wasn't the engine!!!

Really makes you wonder about who you can trust to do good automotive work!!!

Can't commit to the 7th, but if it works out, I'll be there.

From posts I have read sounds like Tq converter could be a good performance investment.....great for hole shots!!!! But then you need tires...and then....

Sounds like Feb. 7th works for the Backstreet Performance get together. Let's say around 9:00. I'll bring dounuts............
I think the Viper will be back for the exhaust up-grade testing. Todd fired it up the other day and it is louder than before...............I haven't heard it yet.
Pass along the word to anyone else with the winter blaws. :yesnod: :yesnod:

Still not sure if I can make it, but it sounds like a good time.

Is anyone planning on getting their vette out if the weather is playing fair at all?

I dug a tunnel from my garage to the street this morning. I suspect I'll have to dig another one tomorrow morning. :mad :banghead: :cry

I'm there - if this weather doesn't stop crapping on us, I'm gonna move south... Steve - saw your car and the remnants of the starter last weekend! Nice paperweights. Glad it wasn't anthing more serious  Never seen anything quite like that. When's it supposed to be done? (Like you can drive it anywhere today... )

Actually got a call from them today. It sounded like they were putting it back together today. I think it's still going to need a fuel pump. so I expect it to be done this week...
