Default GOODBYE OGDEN CHEVY!!!

Much like Jason Smith, I too was pretty hopefull of the path of Ogden Cheverolet. But Today I decided, it was time to throw in the towl. Perfect timing came when this past saturday my former employer called me to attempt to bring me back. After sitting down with him, and placing my requests on the table he agreed. Today I decided to take his offer. I will now beable to service customer cars once again. And as per out agreement, I will be allowed to service all corvette customers and perform mods. I would like to bring in any customers I can from this forum. All I can offer is the quality of my service, and a fair labor rate. I will be back to work on the 16th At Haraldsen's Garage in Westmont. They are a family ran shop that I have worked for over 3 years. They have a good rep and have been around since 1952. I can service any make or model so give me a call if you need any work done on your daily driver or corvette.

For references:
A few people from the forums that I have done work for are Chiman (Craig), LSpalding(Len Spalding), Vetmanlt4? (Georger Sommers) You can also ask Jason Smith I have worked with him for the past 6 months

You can contact me by either e-mail or call Haraldsen's 630-968-4843 I will be there after the 16th

Thanks again for the support of this forum.
-Rick

I'm sorry.. I am leaving Ogden Chevy and going back to Haraldsen's Garage in Westmont.. I like the dealer life, but there are many reasons for making the decision to leave Ogden...

Rick,
Congratulations on your decision. I know you will do great back at the old shop. You will certainly be working for a progressive owner who cares about his employees rather than just cutting employees who have been there for over ten years just to save a BUCK. Keep up the hard work, and try not to call me to often. (just kidding).

Thanks Jason, I know I won't bugg you that much :thumbs:Especially with the switch back to book time you need all the time you can to make money. Yes the firings are not cool, but there are other reasons.

I will not work for someone that does not care about training, service information, or supply nessary shop equipment.

They asked me today what it would take to keep me. I told them about the 3 major things they basically laughed about. I also told them how I felt as though I am trapped and destined to be there used car B|T[H with no sense of ever moving up into service. They even seemed to forget about my 6 month evaluation.. I did take the job as a used car tech to have my foot in the door. When I was interviewed, I told Marc Iozzo how I wanted to be a corvette specialist.. However, Even if they offerd me much higher pay and all the things I need I would not take it. Thanks again to everyone..

And Jason I may see you sometime next week when I'm taking my week long much needed vacation...

One other person I would like to thank is Collen CoObrien, Jason Smith told me he was the one that mentioned to him that I was looking for a dealer. I appreciate it very much and it was a fun run. I learned alot from this experiance.. Who knows I may go back to a dealer in the future and this will look good on my resume..

Thanks,
-Rick

Hey, Thanks George..

I will give you call tomarrow. Maybe we can hook up sometime this, up coming week. Since I am taking this next week off. I plan on finishing a few projects around the house, as well as the LT4 conversion and my front bumper insert illumination project.

"It's better to be pissed off than to be pissed on." From talking to you, I know that they pretty much were pissing on you. What goes around comes around, and it finally came back around to them. Funny how things work out sometimes.

:cuss LoL.. Right.. I don't think my leaving will have much effect.. they'll hire another Bizzyatch and when he gets fed up he'll leave and repeat over and over.. That is the way things work around there. The General Manager thinks my leaving is a big joke, I was in his office and he asked "so tomarrow is your last day?" and was laughing about it.. he said he didn't understand why I was leaving.. I told him there are a few reasons.. No training, No service information (for non GM), and No Scan Tool. those are 3 things a tech should have to do there job effectively. And I didn't even tell him about the pay scale or anything elese.. Even though he may think it's a joke.. the sales staff didn't, several of them asked me to stay. I said of course NOPE. I don't agree with the way many of the employees are being treated. Anyway.. I think I summed it all up..
