Long Page Load Time
Here's something I've noticed:
I'll do an advanced reply; the page loads and looks likt it's done loading (IE all pictures are visable) but the IE flag is still waving and the status bar says it's downloading something. This wouldn't be a big deal except that when I try to use a smiley the page just goes to the top (assuming I have scrolled down) and no smiley appears in the message body. This will happen for about 30 seconds during which time the page is still loading although I can't see anything missing off the page. Only once it finishes loading can I use the Smileys.
This behavior is exhibited across multiple locations and machines I use. I'm not able to tell what it's trying to download when this happens.

You are correct in that the "smilies" will not work until the page has loaded completely.... Usually it is the "banner" ad at the top of the page that loads S-L-O-W-L-Y and holds everything up. Annoying
