Default Improvement request - sidebar follow forum section

I never noticed this previously, since I was always in the C5 section... but now I notice it all the time. While I'm in a C5 related forum, the side-bar navigation titled "Community" is all C6 related content.

Is it possible to have the Community links follow the forum section that you're in? So if you're in a C5 discussion area, the links are C5 related, if C6, then C6, etc.

Thanks if possible.

You can change your "community" or "scheme" even though the default has been set to C6 ... All the way in the top right corner of the screen is a drop down menu with different choices... just choose C5 and you'll get the C5 links in the sidebar... Also can be done through the User CP

That's a tough call. On the one hand if you are mostly reading about a particular generation then you can have it set to show that generation all the time as Rich pointed out. On the other hand you may own multiple generations and want the sidebar to reflect whatever section you are currently in.

We can set it up either way but no matter which way we do it some members will want the other!

It might be possible to do something in the long run that allows you to choose the links you see in the sidebar.

Could adjust it to follow the forum section you're in by default, except if you've set your profile to have the content always show a specific section.... the best of both worlds?
