Default What is Paid Subscriptions?

i have been reading this forum for a long time and recently became a memeber or at least i think i have. i would like to do or become alittle more. is paid subscriptions a different level of membership? what does the money i pay used for? i understand the upkeep of a active website is costly, but is this all the money is used for? what are the teirs of membership? SOooooo many questions but this should get me started.
thanks

Click "User CP" on the top and then under Miscellaneous click "Paid Subscriptions" it should answer most of your questions
