For the past few months I have not been able to log in. When I do I get red x's and the whole page is distorted. Whats worse is when I close out and go back to my personal home page it to is all distorted the same way. The only way I can get back to normal is reboot my system. CF is the only web site I have this problem with. I have tried using Firefox and I get the same thing. I am not sure what has occured to create this, but I would appreciate any suggestions or help anyone can give. Thanks !

Hello fellow TBV member! That logo that you are using for your avatar may have to be updated soon!

Sounds like a peculiar problem, and not one I can readily answer. Here are a couple suggestions to bounce off of you.

Since it is happening to both browsers, are you using a firewall of any sort? A personal one or a company one could have an effect.

Another thing to try (though probability is low since it occurs with both browsers), is to delete all temporary files and cookies. In IE, I believe it it TOOLS/OPTIONS Delete Files. In FireFox it is TOOLS/OPTIONS/PRIVACY and cookies and cache.

While I know what "red x"'s are, I don't know what the other distortions are to determine if there is a correlation. You may need to do a prnt-scrn of a page in question and sent it to me or link it to me somehow.

Also, the started in the "past few months" issue makes me wonder if there was another correlated activity that occurred that may have started this. Security settings in your browser, for example. Or are the browsers blocking cookies.

These are ideas that I had initially. Send more feedback and I will see what else I may come up with with the additional info.

Yea, the new logo's are sweet. Yes, I use Zone alarm for a fire wall, but I don't believe thats an issue. I been using it for a few years now with out any problems. I also clean out reguarly temp and cookie files, and do a system defrag every 30days. To me thats just normal system maintenace. When I say distorted I mean the placement of the boxes and pics. Some are just blank and in the wrong configuration. As far as any corrulated activity, I have thought about that a lot and there's nothing that has been changed on the system of late that I can attribute it to. As a matter of fact right now to the right of me I am looking at boxes with red x's. Normally these things are fairly easy to figure out, but this ones got me stumped. I gotta think that it's on the CF's end seeing how it only happens when i try to access that site.

Since I work in Knoville during the week, I will have to rely on my wife, OYeaLiz, to check out and vote on the logo. Hope it becomes available online soon since I would like to see it.

Sounds like you have covered all the bases I suggested.

If it was a CF issue, I would expect to have more questions here with similar symptoms, especially if it has been going on for several months.

My next suggestion is to take your original post and then post it in Off Topic. You should get many more responses there. Maybe we can both learn something! I would include as much info as you have here and see what some of the Forum [Geeks] may have to say.

Starting the thread with [Geek] in your title will alert the computer folks and they typically peek in and offer suggestions.
