That is correct. TTT or "to the top" and "bump" are used to bring a thread back to the top of the section list where more people see it.

This is used mostly in the for sale sections for marketing.

Abuse however, will get the thread locked.

What do you mean by "bump" When using these commands, do you put quotes around them, slashes or anything?

I could use...

ttt

bump

The principal is to put ANYTHING in there to make it go to the top, but my doing it with a ttt or bump, it shows that is the ONLY reason you are doing it (not adding anything of value to the thread).

Bump means to "bump it to the top"....the same thing as ttt

OK I'm sure another dumb series of questions but I couldn't find an answer looking around in here, if I missed it (which I'm sure I did), please excuse me.
My questions are:

A), what is considered abuse of this "TTT" tag?
B), Does simply posting a reply or an update to a thread do the same as a "bump" or "TTT" tag?
C), Other then this "TTT" tag, are their any other helpful tags available or maybe a list of them that are acceptable to use her in the forum?

Thanks for your time Moderators, I'm sure you have better things to do then answer this kinda stuff, but us newbie’s still need it appreciate it.

A) A series of ttt's would be considered abuse. By nature, when a thread has run it's course (interest level, item sold, etc) bringing it back up will raise some moderator's eyebrows. This typically leads to a locked thread.

B) Yes, a normal post to a thread will bring to "to the top".

C) The use of the "ttt" isn't really a "tag". HTML "tags" are the [quote], [img], [url] commands you use change the appearance of quotes, pictures or url links. There are lists of forum/internet jargon that can be found to help, such as NetLingo.
