Why is it that not all posts are viewable w/o clicking "replies below current depth?"

I'm not sure what you mean...are you using the Linear Mode option under Display Modes?

I am using linear mode. What I mean is that I can submit a post, but when I go back to click on the thread, that post is not always there. However, if I go scroll through that pane right above the thread, I can click on where it says "replies below current depth" and see the post.

It still sounds like your display mode is "threaded", not linear.

Can you confirm based on the below example that you indeed are Linear?
