I was having difficulty trying to upload some images into a thread that I created. I'm used to hitting the "insert image" in other applications and it opens up a "browse" window that will allow me to pick the photo from my desktop. When I tried here its asking me to input the URL where the photo resides? I have no idea how to upload this way... can anyone assist me here? Thank you.
The button you want to use is under the window in which you inserted the text and it's called "Manage attachments." It will let you browse your hard drive, then once you've clicked on the image you want, you will need to click on the UPLOAD button. After it idicates the upload was accomplished, you can close that upload window. You won't see the attached image until you tell it to submit the post.
Note that only supporting members can do this.
The other way most folks have to do it is to put the image on the web somewhere and link to it.
Also, this thread should normally have been put in the help & testing section, which is where you can go to test it.

To minimize storage costs and bandwidth, this site doesn't host your pictures. So you can't simply upload them as you may do at other sites. Here, you provide a HTML tagged URL link to a picture hosting site instead. When someone looks at your post, their computer will automatically follow that link and pull the picture from the hosting site and include it in the displayed message.
If you have your own webpages, many ISPs offer this as part of their service, then the tag is simply a link to the picture on your website. If you don't have your own webpages, you can use third party hosting sites like photobucket.
