Default Posting link in thread?

In the past, I would click the 'insert link' button, then it would ask for a title or name, then another box would appear and I would paste the http address. Now, it doesn't ask for a name or title, but just to enter the url of my link. What am I doing wrong?

I never even noticed that section before - thanks.
Actually, I was looking for the smart-*** section, guess I found it.
I will fit here nicely.

My guess is that you're blocking scripted windows. If you are, just click on the "Insert Link" icon and you'll get a dropdown at the top of the page that says:

"This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows"

Just click on the dropdown and then click on the "Insert Link" icon again...you're all set!

This does not quite address the full question asked originally.

After you click the Okay button with the link in the box, you'll see the URL twice in the text box you're using. The second occurrence of the URL will have a dark blue shadow over it. Just type the name you want that link to have, hit the RETURN key, and it will replace that 2nd copy of the URL. Click the "Submit Reply" button as before.
