Default Blank thread titles

Hi, When I open up a topic, for example the C5 parts, I will get a lot of blanks where the thread title should appear. So I dont know what the subject material is in the thread. Most of them do appear ok but there are several in any topic section. They are arbitrary in the placement and so don't know what is wrong. I have done the control-alt-delete to no avail. Any hints??

thanks,
Ed

Default this is only if you want to add a title - optional

Not sure what you are talking about for sure, but if you are talking about my "this is only if you want to add a title - optional" title for this post, then that is a "post title" and not a "thread title". Post titles are optional.

If you are talking about thread titles, you may notice there are black fonts and gray fonts (gray are ones either old or you have been in the thread). Your colors may show gray as white and they appear to "disappear". If this is the case, try clicking on a white, empty place and see if you go to a thread.

Thanks for the response. I understand what you say about the bold black and the gray. Not what I am trying to describe. One other thing I notice that will happen is that when I click to open a thread, if there is a picture attached it will flash on the screen for about 1 second and then disappear and I can't get it back.???? I am really confused

Right now, I am confused too trying to think of the situation you are in.

Sounds like you have two, one with threads and one about pics.

Are the pics posted in the thread or are they attachments?

This is an imbedded pic:

I have "attached" another one.

If you click on the attached one, it might either "popup" or it might start another browser (or browser tab). It might be a popup blocker preventing the attachment to appear.

If the angel appears, then disappears, then I have no idea.

As far as the threads are concerned, I am still not clear by what you mean. Can you do a print screen and e-mail the picture to me to show me? If so I will pm you my e-mail address.

Ok, am going to try again. I printed out this string of e mails at work and all works ok . So will try to describe better now. Your last e mail has an angel in the body of the narrative. that is still there on my home computer. The picture at the bottom of your corvette is not there on mine. there is nothing there to even choose Also you have an avatar of a guy holding up a wall. This is the picture that will appear for a flash and then disappear. I do have my pop up blocker set on the OK choice. Is there a way that I mighjt be able to do a re boot and fix it? My photo of my next to my car does not show up on my home compueter either.

So all I can do is wish yo luck in this. This does not happen in any other programs on my computer...

thanks {:0(

Let's try going to your browser and delete all temporary internet files. In IE that's Tools/Options and do it there. If using IE7 go to the Tools/Options/Advanced tab and choose reset.

Make sure you are using WinXP SP2 or have all the Windows updates for your computer.

Thanks, (am at work) I'll try it tonight. However, I am not a computer person. I have windows XP, but I don't know what the "SP" means. And, what does IE and IE7 mean? If there is something special I need to do please let me know. Otherwise I will frollow the tools/options/advanced and see if it works.
Thanks a bunch!

SP is short for Service Pack. It is a Windows XP security and bug fix update.

http://support.microsoft.com/windowsxpsp2

You can get to it also from Internet Explorer Tools menu I believe.

IE is Internet Explorer. The latest one that Microsoft put out is now version 7, abbreviated IE7.

Did you do the Windows Updates also from the IE drop down?

Can you try using a different browser like Firefox?

Well, I think the problem might be solved. Keeping my fingers crossed. I accidentally turned my pop up blocker off and that seems to have made the diffrence to things arbitriarly disappearing. Thaks for all your help though
