Why did you all lock this thread? "Repair story for the folks in my area -- this is a rant" I was out of town for a while and when I returned there where lots of comments, including one from teh owner of Corvettes of Houston, and I was unable to post or answer any of them.

The moderator that closed it and the forum policy is in the last post in the thread:
That's all and fine except, other than the word "idiot", my post was accurate. Corvettes of Houston's reply wasn't even close to correct. The person he claimed worked on and drove the car is someone I am familiar with. It was not the person who actually did the work or drove the car. So there is still a problem.
I have sent a private message to David in an attempt to clear this up.
Considering I am one of your gold supporting members, in fact one of the originals, and I have never posted a negative post of any kind in the past, I thought I would get the benefit of the doubt. However, Corvettes of Houston is a supporting vendor.
If you like, you can go ahead and drop me from your forum. I can use the $50 per year. Because of this response, I am sure that is your next action. I'm really sorry that a vendor has this much power in a forum.
I'm sorry for the disruption and any inconvenience I may have caused you.

The thread will stay for anyone to be able to search if they wish to do business with COH. If we felt like we were giving preferential treatment, we would have removed the thread completely.
The forum policy states:
Once there has been the opportunity for the facts on all sides to be posted, the thread will be locked. It will remain in the database and will be available for review by those who are researching the topic, vendor or member.
Both sides were able to give their version. Once that was done, the thread was locked.
We cannot determine the accuracy of either side. We cannot give either of you the "benefit of the doubt". Therefore, instead of allowing a thread to turn into a free-for-all-bashing, we allow each to give a factual side from their perspective, then close it.
The forum believes this is the most professional way to allow disagreements between two parties, yet keep them under control.
We do not drop people from the forum (unless they commit a bannable offense). We would rather you understand our policy and give us the benefit of the doubt on how we try to be fair to all parties while still maintaining control of this forum.
