If you live in a town named La Plata, you entered your town name in the Country (USA) field. Maybe that is why it doesn't show up under your avatar. You might try checking the info in each field.
As for your sig, I don't know.

tnarg also has a point about putting that info in your profile so it shows under your avatar and forum name.
