Moderators, a little help please
For example: I want to search for "force motor current". I put those words in the advance search filter and it pulls up every thread with the word "force" in it, and every thread with the word "motor" in it, and every thread with the word "current" in it.

I have tried using "force&motor¤t" and "force+motor+current". Neither work. Please inform me of the secret key to do a meaningful search and dispell my belief that this search engine is a POS.
Thank you.

If you type in force motor current, you should get back every page with the words force, every page with the word motor, and every page with the word current. However, doing a search for force+motor+current should bring back only the pages with those 3 word on them in no specific order. Using quotations as in "force motor current" should bring back ONLY the pages with that exact phrase. Furthermore, + is the same as &, and leaving a space between each word is also the same as + or &.
Lastly, doing a search for motor -engine should bring back every page with the word motor, as long as that page does not contain the word engine. This is the way every search engine on the Internet works, however, I have found mixed results with the forum's search engine. This can be attributed to the template that the powers that be have chosen to run, an is what we use to interact with each other.
What I suggest you do is learn the Ctrl+F function which will allow you to search with a page and assist you in figuring out whether or not a document that you're looking at is relevant to your search. I find it to be a little tedious doing searches on this forum but if you get creative enough or ask after you've exhausted the search engine, someone will come through for you.
Then I tried just using the forced*motor*current format. It found a 36 posts and none of them had that phrase highlighted in red, or had anything to do with force motor current. I too have sucessfully used many search engines in the past and am familiar with the CTL-F find function. I quess I will just ask the question I have on the forum and try to politely ignore the "Did you do a search?" questions. Thanks again.
