How do you put the Num Lock key where it will stay locked? TIA
Depends on the computer. Some you have to set it in the BIOS.
If you're comfortable running scripts on your computer, MS has a script you can run to set Num Lock ON as default every time your computer starts -- if you're using WinXP. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314879
My Gateway standard keyboard has a NumLock key (above the "7" key on the numeric keypad and the indicator light stays on even after a reboot.
I use the keypad a bunch for Excel stuff and I didn't have to do anything but press the NumLock key once to lock it "ON" so tha the indicator light comes on and that's where it stays.
