Envelop Icon: Open or Closed not working

At least on the c6 forum the Envelop Icon to show new posts to a thread doesn't seem to be working for me. No new post but the icon still shows an open envelop. ????

There are several factors that may affect that. One could be a time factor. After 4 hours (for example) they may reset. Another factor could be "cookies". Cookies are left and could be reset if you get out of and back into the forum. Also, if you use the back arrow to go back to the main section, the icon will not update. It needs to be refreshed. It might reset if you leave that section and return to it later.

It's hard to say which of these, if any, may affect that icon's display.
