dude this sucks! the search is horrible... the search is showing TONS of dead threads. It looks as they have been simply lost.
if so we have lost many REALLY good threads. I was searching a ring and pinion swap and i got almost a whole page with no working threads just titles.
BS!
They "Modded' the forum that reminds me of this saying that I and many of us don't follow with our Vettes ,'If it ain't broke dont mess with it', unless there was something wrong with the forum that needed to be updated although i didn;t see any issues the way it was.

Your kidding, right? The search engine was slow & normally wouldn't return any threads that were related to the searching parameters. The forum itself was dead slow. Many times pages wouldn't refresh & had to be refreshed over & over to get them to load.
I don't care for having the forum vendors in the left column listed in every thread but I have them blocked.

No kidding here, i havnt had any recent problems searching or using any of the functions.
I have a suggestion that I'm not sure has been covered - I didn't know where else to post this as the suggestion thread in OT is locked.
It looks like the default search function is set for a search of lists and threads "forever."
The only way to change this is to click on the "Advanced Search" link. I think it makes much more sense for the default search to search for threads in the options of "days" or "weeks." Few people, I think, want a certain term to be found and returned, by default, through every thread that has been posted since 2001. If they do want that, then they can change the options in the advanced menu. But as it is, I think simple recent searches (recent news or discussion terms) makes much more sense. Or, alternatively, at least the default returned matches could be sorted by post date rather than relevance. That makes more sense, too.
